GIGA Giraffe and Yuso: The first 4-hour battery in the Netherlands!
Kevin Dijkers, CEO OF GIGA Storage (on the right), and Reinoud Botman, Strategic Advisor at Port of Amsterdam, officially plugged in the GIGA Storage Giraffe project on October 17, 2025.
The battery was officially inaugurated on October 17, during a festive event where Michel Verschuere, CEO of Yuso, also took the stage to share his insights. Earlier this year, the battery was connected to the Liander grid to provide flexibility services for TenneT, the Dutch transmission system operator.
With this capacity, GIGA Giraffe can store renewable energy temporarily and feed it back into the grid when demand is at its highest - a crucial function in the ongoing energy transition.

The role of YUSO
