At Yuso, we deploy our expertise to maximise the return on your solar panels. With our smart steering, we combine different algorithms that earn you money, depending on the factors at any given moment.
Injection contract (basic)
The basics: you inject green power into the grid and receive the Day-Ahead market price. No steering, no protection. You earn when the market is favourable, and lose when prices go negative.
Day-Ahead curtailment
Yuso looks one day ahead. Are Day-Ahead prices negative for tomorrow? Then we switch off your installation during the negative hours. You don't inject at loss-making moments, and receive a Day-Ahead benefit on top of your normal injection tariff.
Result: up to 70% more income than a basic contract alone.
Imbalance steering
Yuso monitors imbalance prices every second. Based on this, our system steers your installation in four directions:
Imbalance curtailment (DA+ / IB-): Day-Ahead price is positive, but the imbalance price is negative. Yuso switches off the installation so you don't inject, and gives you a curtailment bonus.
Imbalance un-curtailment (DA- / IB+): Day-Ahead is negative, but the imbalance market turns. Yuso switches back on to capture the steering benefit.
The system reacts fully automatically, day and night, every quarter hour.
Result: a steering benefit of up to 60% extra on top of Day-Ahead curtailment income, for a total added value of more than 160% compared to a basic contract.

Easter Monday 2026: one day, thousands of euros.
On 6 April 2026, the imbalance price in Belgium reached a historic low: -15,000 EUR/MWh. For those who did nothing, it was a loss. For Yuso customers with curtailment, it was a jackpot.
A customer with a 200 kWp installation achieved a net income of €3,300 on that day. That equates to nearly €18,000 per MWp, in a single day. Over a full year, Yuso PV Curtailment averages up to 25 EUR/kW. For a 1 MWp installation, that's €25,000 extra per year.

Does my offtake invoice increase when Yuso switches off my installation?
No. Yuso only limits the injection. Solar energy that you consume directly yourself is never switched off. Your offtake remains at your normal tariff.
How is my steering benefit calculated?
The steering benefit is the combination of benefit from avoided negative tariffs and imbalance benefit. The exact calculation can be found in your steering contract.
Do I lose my green certificates?
At the moments your installation is switched off, you produce no energy and receive no green certificates. The calculation tool takes this into account so you get an accurate estimate.
What if I don't have an offtake contract with Yuso?
Then we only control the injection of your installation. That already delivers a significant benefit. With an offtake contract added, Yuso can switch off the full installation, which further increases the return.
