Yuso PV Curtailment is a smart steering system that switches off the injection from the solar panels at advantageous moments. Yuso can automatically detect these advantageous moments with smart algorithms. When there is a surplus of energy on the Belgian electricity grid, the energy price becomes very negative and it is makes financial sense to switch off the installation. Yuso still reimburses for the injection according to the Day Ahead hourly rate of the injection contract, but adds a bonus for PV Curtailment.

What are the ideal conditions?
High levels of injection on the net
If there is very little self-consumption, there is a lot of volume left for curtailment. This means more income for you!
No green energy certificates
Are you opting for curtailment? Then you will lose the income from green energy certificates, because the energy is no longer produced.
Supply contract with Yuso
This allows Yuso to award a bonus for both injection and offtake. The PV system is then switched off entirely, and the extra volume that you take from the grid generates an additional bonus.

How do I get started with PV Curtailment?
You need an injection contract with Yuso and a PV curtailment steering agreement. In addition, you need a controller that can shut down the installation when needed. Please contact Yuso Sales (sales@yuso.com) to learn about the next steps!
Will my supply invoice be higher if I apply PV Curtailment?
No, Yuso will only limit the injection of the PV installation. The solar energy used directly for self-consumption is not limited. This keeps the supply invoice the same.
How does Yuso calculate the bonus that I will get?
The bonus is calculated by multiplying the avoided injection volume per fifteen minutes by the imbalance price at that moment.
Is my bonus larger if the purchase contract is also with Yuso?
Yes, because then Yuso can completely switch off the PV installation at advantageous moments and make maximum use of the PV Curtailment advantage. The supply will still be settled at the normal rate, but there will be a bonus for PV Curtailment.
