Our history in milestones
Since 2012, Yuso has built up expertise in all branches of the energy world.
By aggregating renewable energy sources, Yuso specialised in utility-scale BESS. Our current portfolio of more than 200 MW in Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom is living proof of our position as an innovator in the sector.
As a green energy supplier, we have expanded this activity over the years with flexibility solutions for our B2B customers.
Local battery storage, PV curtailment and smart steering of supply: our services are always based on real-time market access. In this way, our customers maximise their benefit and together we contribute to the stabilisation of the electricity system.
2012
Yuso is founded
Bart Pycke and Michel Verschuere set up Yuso, the company locates in Waregem.
2014
Rapid growth of our portfolio
Yuso reaches the cap of 100 MWp solar purchase contracts with companies.
2016
Battery storage in the Netherlands
Yuso expands to the Netherlands with the launch of our first large-scale battery project: a 10 MW installation in Zeeland.
2017
Start as a green energy supplier
We start as a 100% green B2B energy supplier in Belgium. Our innovative, transparent offer is changing the Belgian electricity market.
2019
Pioneer in battery storage
Together with our Japanese partners, we join forces to develop a 100 MWh battery park in Ruien. Yuso also starts development activities in the south of the country. These steps resulted in the first wave of large battery systems in Belgium.
2021
Now also local battery storage
We translate our expertise in utility-scale BESS into high-performance steering for batteries behind the meter: with local battery control, a first flexibility product for B2B customers is launched. In addition to peak shaving and optimisation of self-consumption, we also facilitate real-time market access. So companies can now maximise the efficiency of the battery on their site.
2021
Battery storage in the United Kingdom
Yuso takes its first steps in the United Kingdom with the development of a 50 MW battery project. With our innovative approach, we quickly become the top performer in this competitive market as a newcomer.
2022
Creation of Europe’s largest battery
Deux-Acren Energy storage is unveiled. With 50 MW of power and 100 MWh of capacity, Yuso, in collaboration with Corsica Sole, creates the largest battery installation in Europe. In addition, for the first time we offer balancing services.
2024
Launch of PV curtailment
Our range of flexibility solutions is expanded with the launch of PV curtailment on imbalance. In addition to battery steering, we offer a second important tool to accelerate the integration of renewable sources into the electricity system.
