We sit down to dinner with Yellen Rotsaert and his wife Nathalie Van Heule. They are the third generation of entrepreneurs of electrical wholesaler Licht & Elektro Bossuyt in Kuurne.
And they still adopt the personal approach, which is becoming increasingly rare in the current online age. ‘Buying a complicated product without explanation or support afterwards? That’s not our style. We want to make a difference for our customer with our good service.’ The slogan on their website reflects that philosophy: ‘Welcome to the warmest electrical family’.

They are not only warm-hearted, but also future-oriented.
In 2020, they decide to expand their range of green technology. With solar panels, charging stations, heat pumps and batteries in their range, they are resolutely pulling the green card. They are also making this happen in their own store, with an expansion of their PV system in 2020 and the installation of a Poweroad battery in July 2024.

‘The Poweroad battery serves two purposes: it reduces the energy bill for our company, and it showcases our battery solution to our installers. With a complex product such as a battery, good support is essential, from quote to after-sales service. Thanks to this battery, we can correctly explain all aspects of a battery project,’ Yellen testifies.
Their heating has also been made more sustainable: since 2024, it has been fully electric, with air-to-air heat pumps on the roof in combination with air conditioning units in the showroom.

And that switch from gas to electricity has also been a good choice for the wallet: ‘Since the switch, we pay significantly less in energy costs!’
With the application of new technology at their own business park, they have built up great expertise in their green range over a period of 5 years.
Since 2024, Elektro Bossuyt has stopped consuming gas: all heating is done via 4 air-to-air heat pumps on the roof that heat the room.
‘We want to offer our customers high-quality products, which means we are looking for partners who work in the same way,’ says Yellen. With Jelle Decraene as a partner who supplies Poweroad batteries, Yellen and Nathalie have the ideal partner.

Jelle has long been a familiar face at Licht & Elektro Bossuyt, because he himself, as an installer of electrical installations, already bought all the equipment at Licht & Elektro Bossuyt.
‘Yuso is also a partner that works in this way, and we are very happy with the cooperation. If there is a problem, we effectively get someone on the line, which is very nice, says Yellen. Nathalie adds: ‘I do the accounting and I have to admit that I was sceptical at first about investing in a battery. But since we keep making money instead of paying for our energy bill, I’m convinced we made the right decision!’
